National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)
The 2012 Secondary and Middle Level NCTM Standards are applicable to program reports submitted through Spring 2022. A new set of National Standards for the Preparation of Secondary and Middle Level Mathematics Teachers were approved in Spring 2020. Spring 2022 will be the last time to submit initial reports using the 2012 NCTM Standards.
The new 2020 NCTM Standards may be used for program submissions beginning in Fall 2020. For submissions during the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 academic years, submissions must include assessments aligned to the new standards and components and one (1) request for evaluation of data and analysis for 2020 Standards Submissions.
Beginning in Fall 2022, all initial submissions must use the 2020 NCTM Standards. Aligned assessments and two (2) request for evaluations of data will be required for all Fall 2022 and subsequent initial submissions.
NCTM Standards, information and resources can be found at NCTM’s website.
