March 26-28, 2014
The 2014 Spring CAEP Conference is an opportunity to learn from experts, share thoughts with colleagues, and discover what works in the field of educator preparation. Experienced educator preparation faculty and CAEP staff will share accreditation standards and procedures with conference attendees. Individuals directly involved in preparation for accreditation review and those new to the Continuous Improvement, Inquiry Brief, and/or Transformation Initiative accreditation pathways will benefit greatly from this professional development experience. Topics to be covered at the conference include standards and principles of accreditation, details on the various accreditation pathways, reviewers’ expectations regarding candidate effectiveness in P-12 student achievement, the program review process, and the development of assessment systems. A focus of CAEP is to build capacity to raise the quality of evidence submitted for accreditation.
An additional feature of the CAEP Conference is the consultation. Consultations allow the EPP to connect with a CAEP staff member to answer any questions they may have concerning the accreditation process. Consultation registration will open approximately one month prior to the event, and there is no additional fee required for the consultation. A registered attendee from each EPP will receive a registration code. The code can be used to sign up for one consultation with one staff member. There is no limit to the number of members of the EPP who can attend a specific consultation. Once the EPP has registered for a consultation, it cannot be changed. The 2014 Spring CAEP Conference consultations are tentatively scheduled for the evenings of Wednesday, March 26, 2014 and Thursday, March 27, 2014.
