CAEP Statement on Massachusetts’ Release of Teacher Evaluation Results

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), the sole accreditor of educator preparation, is committed to continuous improvement based on data and evidence. At the center of CAEP’s newly adopted standards is the acknowledgement that results in the classroom must be the measure by which all educator preparation efforts are ultimately judged.  Today, the state of Massachusetts reported data from their educator evaluation system, which is a potential source to measure student learning, educator effectiveness, and to spur improvement.  As states undertake new initiatives related to the educator workforce, CAEP is positioned to be an important partner to ensure that providers are preparing educators that are classroom-ready and demonstrably raise learning for all students.
