Assistant or Associate Professor of Special Education: Bellarmine University (8-29-25)

Position Overview

The Annsley Frazier Thornton School of Education at Bellarmine University invites applications for a 9- month, on-site, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level (rank commensurate with qualifications). We seek a dynamic educator and scholar with expertise and experience in special education (learning and behavior disorders) and who shares the ethos of our mission: to prepare caring, effective educators to teach and lead in diverse settings.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach in-person and online courses in:
    • K-12 Special Education methods (undergraduate and master’s initial certification programs)
    • Research methods (advanced graduate and doctoral programs)
  • Maintain an active research agenda focused on special education and/or teacher preparation.
  • Pursue external funding to support research and program initiatives. • Advise and mentor undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students.
  • Engage in school partnerships, community outreach, and service to professional organizations.
  • Contribute to accreditation and assessment efforts across the School of Education.
  • Support the university’s mission by promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity in education. Visa sponsorship is not provided for this position.
