Evaluation

A process for measuring and judging the quality of performance of a program, process, or individual (e.g., candidates, clinical faculty). While assessment of student learning (that measures what students know and can do) and evaluation processes (that assemble results and determine whether they are relevant and sufficient for the purpose) are related, they do differ, and it is best not to use the terms interchangeably (adapted from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges glossary).
