CAEP — quite awkward and unwieldy– why the change from NCATE???
The decision to move to one accrediting body for educator preparation was based on a recommendation of a design team designated by NCATE and TEAC. The design team’s report to the respective boards of directors can be found at http://caepnet.files.wordpress.com/2012/12/designteamreport.pdf.
The idea is to greater streamline efforts for educator preparation providers, states, etc., hopefully reducing unwieldiness!
