Standards In August 2015 ACEI discontinued its role as a CAEP-recognized SPA and terminated its program level reviews. However, CAEP has been committed to serve the field by continuing to coordinate the review of reports that EPPs submitted using the 2007 ACEI standards while the new CAEP Elementary Standards were being developed. Over the years, the number of volunteers available to conduct program reviews has decreased due to ACEI’s decision to no longer recruit and train new SPA reviewers. Unfortunately, there are no longer enough ACEI-trained reviewers available to continue this practice. Accordingly, reports using ACEI standards will be discontinued starting fall 2019.

Transition from 2007 ACEI Standards to 2018 CAEP Elementary Standards:

  • EPPs using the 2007 ACEI standards, during the transition phase, will be able to use the outcome assessment evidence they have collected and analyzed using these standards and upload it as evidence for CAEP Standard 1 (Component 1.3) as part of the self-study report.
  • EPPs using the CAEP 2018 K-6 Elementary Teacher Preparation Standards will be able to use the outcome assessment evidence they have collected and analyzed using these standards and upload it as evidence for CAEP Standard 1 (Component 1.3) as part of the self-study report.
